I do have a little concern though. You should know that soshified has banned shenyuepop from taking materials from their forums. I also know that some of your news comes from soshified which is alright because it is rightly credited. But I just recently visited shenyuepop and saw that they took information off your blog and used it against the girls.

im still trying to look for a specific statement where they stated they officially banned syp, because i only remember reading about a little of it awhile back. either way i’ll try and find a way to fix this problem. i know ssf allows news articles to be taken out and shared (with the proper credits) but i didnt think about it being taken by unwanted sources. ill def. work on fixing this. thanks again to rawr for informing me!

yesterday (or today) i was drugged cuz i had surgery. so i was kinda out of it. but i think i remember leaving a comment under a music bank post (i think it was written by soofany) about how music bank chooses the winner and stuff. i thought someone asked about it, but i cant seem to find the post or my reply. so, my question is, did i leave a comment (not here, but under a music bank post, dunno which one) and did someone actually ask about how music bank chooses the winner?

Music Bank Ranking System:
1. 디지털 음원 – Literally translates to Digital Music/Sound Source; 60%
Digital sound source points are found by adding the total points from online music sites and mobile phone music services.
The six online music sites are:
http://www.dosirak.com; http://www.melon.com; http://www.muz.co.kr; http://www.bugs.co.kr; http://www.mnet.com; http://www.soribada.com
Each site has a different way of scoring songs.
Mobile phone music services are calculated by SKT and KTF. The more people that download the song as their ring tone and/or coloring, the higher points the song gets.
2. 시청자 선호도 – Roughly translates to Popularity to audience, how much the audience likes the song; 10%
This is found by asking random people (random as in random age, gender, background, etc.) to choose their 3 favorite songs. I believe this is done online.
3. 음반 – Means album; 15%
This is calculated by the amount of albums sold in the period of one week by three major sites. The sites are: http://www.hanteo.com; http://www.hottracks.co.kr; http://www.synnara.co.kr
4. 방송횟수 – Means how many times the song was aired; 15%
This is calculated by the number of times the song was aired by KBS, SBS, and MBC and by radios. This does not include any cable channels. The number of times the song is aired on KBS, SBS, and MBC is merged with the number of times the song was aired on radios in a 5:5 ratio.

It’s a bunch of rumors really… Stuff buried deep within SNSD’s past and most of Korea has forgotten about.
But basically, it’s just fans of other groups hating on SNSD because they’re close with their favorite boy band members OR ir’s competition with other girl groups and fans of those girl groups are very…let’s say competitive.
So because of jealousy and competition, as well as rumors, SNSD had a lot of bad publicity.

i doubt it… the girls barely visit SSF, and that’s the biggest international snsd based forum out there. there’s over 35k members there, whereas there’s barely 15k viewers here, and most people just lurk here.

Okay okay, well, my question is a tad bit difficult, although I’m sure many have experienced and are indeed experiencing it.
I’m getting so hooked on SNSD and this site that it’s seriously adversely affecting my ability to complete my school work. I have thought of putting SNSD on hold until holidays or until I finish school, but I don’t have such a superpower.
A little advice would be appreciated.

lemme tell you..snsd is such a distraction. even after over a year, almost two years now for me, the fan girl-ness has only STARTED to calm down. but when youre running a blog…technically it cant ’cause you gotta keep everyone updated lol. -_-
my advice? honestly, i let snsd get in my way sophomore year of high school, which..hah you can see the slips in grades, thank goodness nothing drastic. but as much as we love the girls, we can’t let the more important stuff get in the way, so i say, limit all this snsd time to only 1-1 1/2 hours each day. weekends? splurge with all the snsd you want. unless its holdiays then dont limit yourself. work (should) come first!
thats what i did during my junior year :] helped a lot actually. and when major exams come by? i dont even log into my account on the blog.
Haha, thanks a lot. That’s a good idea. I’ve got a pretty addictive personality, so I’m almost always attached to something.
I don’t quite have the issue of being a fan-girl as my Y chromosome always has something to say about it. Also, I’m in a boys only high school, so they constantly chastise me for liking SNSD, although to no real avail. And even some of them are into Gee at least, so I’ll never be alone. 1-1 1/2 hours sounds good. Just wondering how I’ll manage it. I stay on here for hours at a time, just reading and occasionally commenting. You at least have to take the time to make posts and find the precious SNSD material.
I’m in my second last year of high school now, though, so yeah, I’ll have to convince myself that work comes before SNSD. For now.

I think you’re referring to “Girls Go To School”. It’s considered kinda like a reality show of the girls before their debut.
Errmm for SNSD shows, besides GGTS, I recommend MTV SNSD (http://snsdkorean.wordpress.com/2009/08/30/throwbacks-mtv-snsd/), Charity Cafe (http://snsdkorean.wordpress.com/2009/08/30/2009/05/13/charity-cafe-event-with-park-tae-hwan-subbed/), Hello Baby, We Got Married, Factory Girl, Horror Movie Film, Wonderful Outing, etc.
You can find the subbed videos on youtube, like on ssfsub’s channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/ssfsubs) and soshified.com is a good place to download them. Hope that helps.

ssfsubs may be the official YouTube Soshified account, but they do not upload all the videos they have. It would be too much of a hassle. You can, however, watch the video from Soshified if you are a member. Watching is free, but to download the videos, there will be some minimum requirements to fulfill. Hope it helped, SNSDFAN.

Hey SNSDKorean, I read up on your post on the SNSD Widgets a while back, and I’ve been looking for it all over. I found an .exe version somewhere, and it doesn’t need to download off Samsung’s servers. It is able to startup with windows and it also saves the reminders that you get to set. The question I have is about the time widget (the one that shows the time in a large orange font with 4 SNSD members). Even if I shutdown with the widget intact, the time-telling widget does not show up on windows startup. I felt that it was weird since then you would have to reopen the time widget to see it; wouldn’t it be better to have to automatically appear? Does your widget work the same way?

Here something that has been bugging me! In the new video of ‘Super Girl’ by Super Junior M, who is the two new face that I’ve never seen before among the thirteen members? Isn’t Super Junior M a sub group of the thirteen member in Super Junior? Hmm……..Puzzle!
I believe the two new additions are Henry Lau and Zhou Mi.
Henry Lau appeared in Super Junior’s “Don’t Don” MV playing the violin. He’s not part of Super Junior, only in Super Junior M, along with Zhou Mi.
Henry Lau and Zhou Mi are both Chinese, and that’s the precise reason SM recruited them. Having 3 (plus Han Geng) Chinese members in a group targeted for the Chinese market is indeed a good strategy, don’t you think so?

Super Junior M has been around only for a year or so, but they do have some hits, like ‘U’. And there’s the MV for it on YouTube as well. f(x)’s Victoria is in that MV. Nope, the two Chinese members in Super Junior M aren’t in the original Super Junior lineup, unfortunately.

Just a comment, I realized after checking yesterday in most of the CD selling places and realize that my search for the SNSD latest or previous album was effortless! They do not even bother placing them on the rack with the other older albums!
The best part was I asked the counter and they said ‘Who is SNSD?’ I guess it is really not popular in Malaysia yet! But surprisingly, I found some other korean group products for example, SS501, Big Bang, Super Junior, and more but they were all a combine DVD! There’s no official album for individual artist except Rain!
So much for supporting the SNSD!

Anyway, to answer you’re question, there’s a lot of debate surrounding this. I think it comes down to what you believe. In my case, I think some of them might have had plastic surgery. When I say that, I mainly think of Tiffany’s nose because (it could just be me) it looks quite a bit different from before the girls debuted. In South Korea, or so people keep telling me, plastic surgery is considered very normal, but in the end, all these rumours are merely speculation until the girls decide to come out about the matter themselves.
I think the main thing with SNSD is that physical features aside, they have real down-to-earth personalities and that’s why we love them so. That, and their music. Eye candy is just a side-dish. I guess South Korea likes big, tasty sides.

I have heard so many negative things about SNSD. There are such controversities about SNSD especially Taeyeon. I’ve heard that she was racist, can’t sing, disrespectful, and how SNSD ignore fans and that they’re fake. Well honestly what I think is envy from anti people. Taeyeon can sing and sometimes there are good times and bad ones I saw the video and was like hey its better than really BIG STARS caught lip-syncing. For the racist remark ok maybe it was a little far said but how come other people don’t get hated for being racist against asians? Where do you see the headlines for racism against asians? No where!! Exactly!! She basically said oh for a black person she’s pretty, i don’t think its racist its just a comment like for the rest of the world saying oh for an asian he’s tall. SNSD are humans too they get tired and sometimes certain remarks are just rude and saying that one is better than them is not true either. They grow from it, they learn from their mistakes, if they were to be perfect that would make them robots and fake, they just prove that hey they make mistakes too, they say things they don’t mean, they are still young and learning, and being able to make mistakes is one of the best way to show ones humanity and realness. Taeyeon shouldn’t be judge, SNSD shouldn’t be judged, no one should be because it is in no ones right to judge another. You judge me but you don’t know if I’m gonna judge you too or if some one else will so its unfair. Taeyeon sarang hae. SNSD FIGHTING!!!
